On November 9, 2023, AACCUP conducted an online survey visit for the Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling. As a graduate-level review, the assessment placed particular weight on faculty research output, thesis/dissertation advising capacity, and the specialized resources graduate students in guidance and counseling need — areas that carry different expectations than an undergraduate survey. The visit examined how well the program prepares graduates for counseling practice and educational leadership roles.

To validate the academic quality and institutional readiness of the MA in Education (Guidance and Counseling) program at the graduate level, and to identify what further investment in faculty, research, or resources the program may need.
