Abstract

The length of time in the production of organic fertilizer resorted plant growers to disregard

using this necessary component of a naturally nutrient-rich soil. Coconut pulp and the

decomposition rate of plant-based residues has been investigated to find out if coconut pulp

could hasten the decomposition process. Quantitative Research Method through laboratory

experiment was used in this study with four [4] treatments and four [4] replications. This

experiment interpreted the data basing from the result of Regression Analysis. The findings of

the study showed that coconut pulp influenced the decomposition rate of the plant-based

residues by hastening the decomposition process. Treatments with coconut pulp revealed a

faster decomposition process. The findings support the alternative hypothesis that coconut

pulp hastens the decomposition rate of plant-based residues. With the addition of coconut

pulp, a speedy decomposition process of plant-based residues is possible. Coconut pulp can

be used as an alternative to the commercial bio activators.
