PROJECT TAMBOLIG: An Innovative Digital ID and Visitor Management System

PROJECT TAMBOLIG—a Waray term for “to help”—is a digital ID–based visitor management system that began as a student thesis at the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), Philippines and was later adapted and pilot-tested in BJMP Bacoor City with support from LGU Bacoor. The project demonstrates how academic research can evolve into meaningful social innovation. By replacing slow, paper-based procedures with QR-enabled verification, automated logging, and pre-validated visitor profiles, PT delivers faster processing, fewer errors, improved data accuracy, and more dignified, predictable visitation experiences for visitors, Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL), and personnel.
