This study aimed to assess the governance model of a selected college at the
Eulogio \"Amang\" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) Manila.
Employing a quantitative-descriptive research design, the study described governance
practices through survey questionnaires focusing on respondents\' profiles (age and
gender) and the dimensions of good governance-participation, transparency, and
accountability.
A total of 351 students were identified as the sample population, with 285
respondents completing the survey. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage,
and weighted mean. Findings revealed that the governance model of the selected
college was rated as highly effective in terms of participation and accountability, and
effective in terms of transparency. The variations in transparency scores indicate
opportunities for improvement.
To enhance transparency, the study recommends promoting a free flow of
information by reinforcing communication about academic policies, grading systems,
course requirements, and assessment methods, all of which should be clearly reflected
in the course syllabus. Furthermore, establishing transparent grievance mechanisms
and ensuring that students are informed of fair and accessible procedures for
addressing concerns can strengthen institutional governance.
